I had the honor of working with Howard Sidney for six years as former Director of Student Financial Aid at Cobleskill. Howard was not only a cherished colleague, mentor and professional, but a true friend. We would travel together looking for external support for the campus, scholarships or whatever and they were great moments in my life. Every year since I left Cobleskill in 1984 I'd get a holiday letter from Howard and Hazel then Howard and he'd make me laugh. There were few people like Howard and Cobleskill was blessed with his presence. I will miss him a great deal and know there are many others who feel the same way. Mr. Sidney was a very firm but fair and compassionate teacher. He gave me one of the best breaks in life that a person can receive. He guided me through my last semester and made sure that I didnt let him down, and I didnt. I stood tall on that stage in 1955 and received my degree. In 1971, I stood tall again receiving my BA at Golden Gate College in San Francisco. My two years at Cobleskill were two of the best years in my life, made a lot of friends, had a lot of fun and I thank Mr. Sidney for pulling on the reins. Frederick J Tober Joe class of 1955
