School of Agriculture & Natural Resources

Agricultural Engineering Faculty Scholarship:  Agricultural Engineering continuing student with a 2.5 GPA or higher in all major curriculum courses and based on scholarship, campus activities and economic need.

J. Roger Barber Scholarship:  For incoming students majoring in a Agricultural or Natural Resources major. Students must be from a rural area of NY, and have excellent citizenship, scholarship, and leadership skills. Financial need will also be considered.

William (Bill) Barton Scholarship:  For continuing Bachelor of Technology students majoring in Agriculture and Natural Resources with preference given to dairy students.  Students must have a 3.25 or higher GPA. Must be an outstanding campus citizen and display potential for making a positive contribution to the agricultural community.

Andy Bates Scholarship:  Continuing students in Agricultural Engineering or Turfgrass Management who have completed 30 or more college credits and have a 2.5 or higher cumulative average at SUNY Cobleskill. Awarded to students who display potential for making a positive contribution to the agricultural engineering and/or turfgrass industry. Possess a high interest in golf course equipment design, manufacturing, and use. Outstanding campus citizen.

Roger Becker Agricultural Scholarship:  For incoming Associate or Bachelor of Technology students majoring in Animal Science or Agricultural Business.

Abe and Rebecca Chavin Memorial Scholarship:  Awarded to incoming students who are pursuing Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Production & Management or an agricultural major. Preference is given to students from Rensselaer County with consideration given to Washington and Columbia County residents. Selection is based on high school academic performance and participation in school and civic activities.

Walter J. Clark College Foundation BT Scholarship:  For continuing or internal transfer Bachelor of Technology students in an Agricultural and Natural Resources major. Students must have a 3.25 or higher college GPA and demonstrate active involvement in SUNY Cobleskill college and student activities. Student financial need will also be considered.

Dairy Fashions Scholarship:  Incoming students who must be involved with the dairy industry or be majoring in Dairy Production & Management and demonstrate good academic potential and an involvement in extra-curricular activities, with an emphasis on those related to agriculture and dairying. Annual awards of $500.

Bob and Holly Emmons Turfgrass Scholarship:  Awarded to a continuing turf student with a GPA of 2.5 or higher with a good work ethic and committed to the turf grass industry.

Envirothon Scholarship:  Incoming students pursuing Agricultural and Natural Resources majors who participated in the annual New York State Envirothon.

John Deere Scholarship:  Incoming students majoring in the Agricultural Power & Machinery/John Deere program who have demonstrated academic achievement and participated in extracurricular activities.

Ken & Betty Marshall Equestrian Scholarship:  Awarded to a continuing equestrian student with a 2.75 GPA or higher who participates in the campus community.

Robert D. Marshall Scholarship:  Continuing BT Fisheries and Wildlife Major with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. Good Community Citizen and dedicated to his/her field of study.

Edward Mott Scholarship:  For incoming students pursuing Agricultural Engineering who have demonstrated academic potential, been involved in extracurricular activities and have financial need.

Jane and Ken Olcott Scholarship:  Continuing BT student in Agriculture Engineering with a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Preference given to students with experience in Post Ag. Secondary Student. If eligible student with experience in PAS is not found, experience in other campus organizations will be considered.

Kristen Peck Memorial Scholarship:  For incoming and returning students who are pursuing an Agricultural and Natural Resources major. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement, exhibit strong leadership qualities and have actively participated in FFA and/or 4-H.

Lt. Col. Leo A. Polinsky Memorial Scholarship:  For continuing or internal transfer Bachelor of Technology students majoring in an Agricultural or Natural Resources major (preference given to internal transfers). Students must have a 3.25 or higher college GPA.

Ingrid L. Shepard Scholarship:  Continuing Plant Science student with at least a 2.5 GPA, academic promise and leadership skills.

VanDeusen/MacKay Scholarship:  Upper level baccalaureate student who has demonstrated an interest in (passion for) sustainable agriculture. The student must have achieved a 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to Schoharie County residents and/or non-traditional age student.

Westfall Family Scholarship:  Continuing senior who have completed a minimum of two semesters at SUNY Cobleskill. Awarded to students in the Agriculture Division. Recipients shall be academically successful and outstanding campus citizens who, by their actions, improve the quality of life on the SUNY Cobleskill campus.

Kenneth E. Wing Scholarship:  For incoming students in an Agricultural and Natural Resources major who are from a rural area of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania or New England. Selection is based on citizenship, scholarship and leadership with extra consideration given to those with FFA or 4-H experience. Student financial need will also be considered. Established in honor of former SUNY Cobleskill President, Kenneth E. Wing.

School of Business

William Brophy Scholarship:  Scholarship will be awarded to a continuing student in the Business Division with 2.75 GPA or greater. The recipient should demonstrate academic promise.

Cole Barnard Scholarship:  Continuing Culinary Arts, Hospitality and Tourism associates degree student with a 3.0 GPA or greater.

Hector Boiardi Memorial Scholarship:  For incoming Culinary Arts or Restaurant Management majors who have evidence of academic achievement and financial need.

Greenlees Scholarship:  Continuing student majoring in Business and Computer Technologies.

Gerald Hisert Scholarship:  Awarded each year to a returning business student.

Steven A. Milavec Memorial Scholarship:  Continuing business student from Otsego or Schoharie Counties majoring/minoring in Technology or a technology-related field with a 2.5 or above GPA.

Hillary Rodham Clinton Scholarship:  Continuing non-traditional BT majoring in Business Technology.

Rua and Sons Scholarship:  Continuing business students from Schoharie County with a GPA of at least 2.5 who demonstrate financial need.

VICA Culinary Competition Scholarship:  Awarded to the first place winner of the Annual VICA Culinary Competition.

School of Liberal Arts & Sciences

Effie Bennett-Powe Scholarship:  Early Childhood students who have:
• Completed at least 30 credits
• documented financial need
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Participate in a leadership experience in anti-bias/multicultural settings such as social agencies, clubs, letter writing campaigns, workshops, etc.
OR
• The course ECHD 251, Anti-Bias Strategies: A Human Relations Approach

Joanne Signor Braman Science Scholarship:  Applicant must be a student in Biotechnology, Chemical Technology, Histotechnology or Health Science Studies who has completed two semesters with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicant must be active in college and civic activities.

Donald & Susan Cohen Mathematics Scholarship:  Continuing student having a major in mathematics and a B average in all mathematics courses taken at Cobleskill, including at least Calculus I. The student must also have an overall GPA of at least 2.75.

K. Delphena Nessle Scholarship:  Continuing students must be enrolled in Early Childhood and demonstrates financial need and academic promise.

Meg Pearson Scholarship:  A transfer scholarship, for students graduating from SUNY Cobleskill with an associates degree, who will be enrolled at another institution in an academic program resulting in a degree related to Math or Science. Preference shall be given to students graduating with an AS degree in Health Science Studies and enrolled in the Early Assurance to Medical School Program. The recipient of this scholarship must graduate with a 3.5 GPA or better. While at SUNY Cobleskill the recipient must have made a positive contribution to the campus community whether it be through participation in Student Government, sports or some other extracurricular activity. This is not a financial need based scholarship.

Non-School Specific Scholarships

Harry Abrahamsen Scholarship:  Continuing average student with high potential and a GPA of 2.5 or higher who demonstrates leadership ability and volunteer work.

Alumni Legacy Scholarship:  For incoming students who demonstrate academic excellence and have one or more parents who are College alumni. Consideration will also be given to students who have other family members as College alumni.

Alumni Margin of Excellence Scholarship:  For incoming students based on academic performance in high school and civic activities.

Class of 1956 Scholarship:  Continuing student with a 2.5 GPA or greater. A student leader with community involvement.

Cobleskill Auxiliary Services Scholarship:  Continuing student who received one of the following scholarships: Wheeler, Alumni Margin of Excellence, or Student Ambassador.

Dewar Foundation District Scholarship:  Awarded to incoming students from the City and Town of Oneonta or the Town of Milford, Laurens, Maryland or Otego in Otsego County or the Town of Davenport in Delaware County who show evidence of academic achievement.

Garrett, Myers and Friends Scholarship:  For incomining students from Middleburgh High School with financial need, and academic promise. Students must achieve a B average in regents' exams including English, History, Math, and Science.

Geerken-Ciminelli Scholarship:  For incomining students from Worcester Central School with financial need, and academic promise. Students must achieve a B average in regents' exams including English, History, Math, and Science.

John T. Glover II Memorial Award:  For incoming students who participated in the Schoharie County Liberty Partnership Program who have good academic potential.

Arkell Hall Foundation Scholarship:  For residents of Montgomery County (western Montgomery preferred) who show academic achievement and involvement in school and civic activities.

Marcia Hammond Germain Scholarship:  Awarded to continuing students based on academic achievement, college and community service and financial need.

Albie Harris Scholarship:  To a continuing student who is a resident of Schoharie County with a GPA of 2.5 or better. Recipient must demonstrate leadership and contributed time and service to the College and community.

Helen and Bernard Horowitz Scholarship:  Awarded to continuing students based on the applicant's GPA.

International Student Scholarship:  Continuing international student in good standing.

Albert "Nick” Iorio Community Service Scholarship:  Continuing seniors who have completed a minimum of two semesters at SUNY Cobleskill. Awarded to students who by their actions and volunteer leadership, improve the quality of life on the college campus and in the Cobleskill community. Recipients shall be outstanding campus citizens.

Merrill Family Foundation Scholarship:  Continuing students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and active citizenship in the college and/or the community.

Stan & Pat Nevins Scholarship:  Continuing student with proven academic skills of a 2.5 GPA or higher, pursuing a teaching career in any field, and shows financial need.

O'Connor Foundation Scholarship:  For incoming students from Delaware County (contiguous counties also considered) who have demonstrated academic achievement and participated in extracurricular activities.  Students must achieve and maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher to renew scholarship.

Schoharie County Community Scholarship:  For  incoming students who are residents of Schoharie County or graduates of a Schoharie County high school who have evidence of academic ability, personal initiative and financial need. Students should have a 90 or higher high school average and a 1000 or higher SAT composite or 21 or higher ACT composite.

Gerald E. and Richard Schopinsky Scholarship:  The awarding of this Foundation scholarship is based on academic performance and community service. A minimum of four scholarships up to a maximum of eight scholarships will be awarded each year. The four shall consist of a freshman and sophomore (two year program) and junior and senior (in a four year academic program). The remaining scholarships (up to four) shall go to second year students in a two year program, for which the college was founded and that which the Schopinsky family members attended.

Sidney-Gaffney Scholarship:  Awarded to continuing students based on academic performance.

Elbridge M. and Edna W. Smith Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship (PTK):  This recipient of this scholarship shall be a continuing student who has demonstrated financial need and has earned a first semester or first year B (3.5+) average, thereby qualifying academically for Phi Theta Kappa membership.

SUNY Cobleskill Schoharie County Academic Achievement Scholarships:  For valedictorians and salutatorians at Schoharie County High Schools. It is part of the college's ongoing commitment to investing in the local community. The scholarship covers room and board for all valedictorians and salutatorians who enter into one of our baccalaureate programs. Students must maintain full-time status and a cumulative g.p.a. of 3.5 or higher, and be good campus citizens during their stay at the college to retain their scholarship. In addition, they will be Student Ambassadors, working with the Admissions Office.

Jean Webb Williams Scholarship:  For incoming students who demonstrate academic achievement and participation in school and civic organizations. Students who have been dairy princesses are given preference.

Peter Wilson Memorial Scholarship:  Awarded to incoming Schoharie County high school graduates with demonstrated academic performance and financial need.

Phyllis Winkelman Alumni Scholarship:  Awarded to incoming students based on high school academic performance and participation in school and civic activities.

Zeta Alpha Phi (ZAP) Scholarship:  Applicant must be a continuing student and a dependent of a Cobleskill ZAP brother; GPA 2.75 or higher.
