Meet the Institutional Advancement Team
 
Kathy Diamond, phonathon director
Kathy attended the secretarial program at SUNY Cobleskill in 1978.  She currently works during the day as a relationship manager at KeyBank.  Since 1999 Kathy has worked in the evening hours for seven weeks in the fall and seven weeks in the spring as Phonathon Director.  Her unbreakable positive spirit motivates student callers well into the nighttime hours as they reach out to alumni appealing for gifts to the alumni annual fund campaign.  She says she loves being a part of the team and working between the alumni office staff and students.
 
Lois E. Goblet, director of development and alumni relations
After graduating from our alma mater in 1979, Lois continued her studies at Colorado State University.  She started her career at SUNY Cobleskill in alumni relations in 1996.  Lois and her husband, Jim Goblet `78, reside in Schoharie with their four children.  Two of the Goblet children are presently attending SUNY Cobleskill.
 
Regina LaGatta, vice president for institutional advancement
Bringing more than 30 years experience to SUNY Cobleskill, Regina previously was senior vice president of special projects for Capital District YMCA, where she built support for financial development, endowments and capital campaigns, in addition to working on government relations and public policy.  While at Capital District YMCA she also served as executive vice president/deputy executive officer, focusing on marketing and community relations, government and public policy, grant funding and property management and development.  At Hudson Valley Community College she was the director of facility utilization and managed the opening of the McDonough Health, Physical Education and Recreation Complex.  She established marketing plans for the complex and campus and community recreational based programs for fitness.  At the Center for Disability Services she was assistant vice president of development, responsible for fund development, annual campaigns and special events.  In addition to her experience in institutional advancement Regina volunteers her time and expertise to the Academy of the Holy Names, Hudson Valley Community College and the American Cancer Society.  Regina earned her master's of science in special education at The College of St. Rose. She received her bachelor's degree in health education and therapeutic recreation from the State University of New York College at Brockport and her associate's degree in recreation management from Hudson Valley Community College.
 
Karen Speenburgh, advancement associate

Karen graduated from SUNY Cobleskill in 1999 with her AAS in Plant Science - Floriculture and in 2004 with her BT in Agricultural Business with a concentration in Agri-Enterprise.  She has been working in the Institutional Advancement office since 2002.  In addition to processing all gifts to the Foundation and Alumni Association, assisting with mailings and ensuring the database of alumni and friends stays current, Karen also plans events for SUNY Cobleskill alumni and friends to attend around the country – we hope to see you at one of our events! 

Kate Weaver, alumni and annual fund associate

While attending SUNY Cobleskill, Kate worked in the admissions office through the Student Ambassador program and completed an internship working in the alumni office. She received an AA in Liberal Arts & Sciences with a concentration in humanities and a BBA- Financial Services from SUNY Cobleskill. In 2004, Kate was hired as an alumni and annual fund associate currently overseeing the CobyConnection website, writing the class notes section of the alumni magazine, coordinating with the phonathon director, in addition to assisting with event planning, fundraising activities, and alumni correspondence.
